Synopsis

A farmer discovers a fallen meteorite in the high Chihuahuan deserts. The Alien Earth and the Earth Alien commingle under the spell of a deadly nightshade. A mysterious short that transports us to lands of arid beauty.

Bio/Filmo

Jean-Jacques Martinod (Ecuador) is a filmmaker, artist, teacher, curator and founder of the publishing project Evidence House. His work plays with sensory percepcions by combing parapsychic filmmaking techniques, psychogeographical drifts and conjured cognition to create highly personal, mythical and poetic landscapes in direct dialogue with realms of nature and expanded ethnographies. His film La bala de Sandoval was in competition in the International Short Film section at l'Alternativa 2019. His work has been exhibited in festivals, museums, galleries and underground and DIY spaces worldwide.
Bretta C. Walker (Blue Ridge Mountains, United States) is a practitioner of temporal, alchemical and relational poetics. Her work is that of a deeply personal practice grounded by healing and liberated by process, often addressing liminality, somatic memory, passage, intimacy and abyss. She spearheads the publishing project Evidence House and holds a BFA in Studio Art from Tufts University, MA. Her works have been shown in various galleries and festivals across the Americas, Asia and Europe and have been permanently archived in several institutional collections, including that of The International Center of Photography in New York.
