Synopsis

Filmed in Amazonia between the Phantom Road BR-319, the Transamazônica BR-230 and the real village of Realidade, Curupira e a máquina do destino documents an encounter between the creature Curupira, protectress of the forests, and the incarnated ghost of Iracema, a 14-year-old prostitute. A portrait of 2021 Brazil and the ravaging of the Amazon rainforest: the cyclical history and story of Brazil in pursuit of so-called progress. Warm ruins of a corrupted future.
