Labs, Residencies, Forums and Plenty of Questions

In recent years we have seen a surge in the number of labs, residencies and coproduction forums for developing and pitching film projects. These programmes play a crucial role in helping us find funding for developing and distributing projects, but they also appear to be sidelining previously influential development departments at television and production companies.

This third edition of Creative Input for Project Development aims to focus minds on our constantly evolving circumstances by debating a series of pressing questions: Are these events acquiring a disproportionate influence on festivals and public funding? What does a good development programme strategy look like? When is the ideal time to start publicising a project and how best to go about it? How should we deal with contradictory feedback?
