Synopsis

A video made from VHS family movies shot by the artist’s father at his parents’ place and on Argelès beach. The voice of the Spanish grandfather sharing his experience of republican exile and civil war meets the voice of the father talking about his own experience of being the son of Spanish refugees. A transgenerational film about the trauma of war and the intimate consequences of exile.

Bio/Filmo

Camille Pueyo (Paris, 1988) is a video editor, experimental filmmaker and VJ. Her practice combines film and video to give shape to intimate stories she gleans throughout her encounters. Situated on the border between video art and documentary, it explores the subjects of memory and absence and questions the porosity between the intimate and the public. Her films have been screened at festivals such as Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, CODEC (MX), or Timeline Festival (BR).
