Synopsis
Living things, artificial things, geometric shapes and lines. When different things come together, they take off in new directions.
Bio/Filmo
Yoriko Mizushiri is a freelance film director who graduated from the Joshibi University of Art and Design in Japan, where she made a number of films inspired by iconic manga cartoonist Yasuji Tanioka and young painter Tomoko Kashiki. She then went on to make a trilogy on the sense of touch—Futon (2012), Snow Hut (2013) and Veil (2014)—which picked up awards at a number of animation festivals, including the Berlinale, Annecy and Zagreb. Her hand-drawn animations offer haptic suggestions, explore tiny fragments of daily life and dive deep into the abyss of the unconscious.
