Synopsis
The little-known Bread Mutiny was an uprising led by the women of Córdoba in May 1652. Faceless, nameless women invisible to us. How do we go about honouring acts of resistance when we know so little about them?
Bio/Filmo
Pilar Monsell (Córdoba, Spain, 1979) is a filmmaker, artist, editor, and researcher. She studied creative documentary film at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (2007) and is currently based in Madrid, where she carries out artistic and audiovisual projects for film and television in a range of different registers, including film essay, documentary, experimental film and memory and archive film. África 815 (2014), winner of the Panorama Platja d'Aro–Costa Brava Award, and Dos sueños después (2017) were both screened at l'Alternativa.
