Feature films in l'Alternativa Official also compete for the Critics Award for Best Feature Film in l’Alternativa Official, awarded in collaboration with the Associació Catalana de Crítics i Escriptors Cinematogràfics (ACCEC).
This honorary award is awarded by a jury appointed by ACCEC.

Feature films in l'Alternativa Official also compete for the Don Quijote Prize for Best Feature Film in l'Alternativa Official, awarded in collaboration with the International Federation of Film Societies (FICC).
This honorary prize is awarded by an international jury appointed by IFFS.

Films selected for the Panorama section in l’Alternativa Parallel also compete for the GAC Award for Best Screenplay in l'Alternativa Panorama, awarded in collaboration with Guionistes Associats de Catalunya (GAC). There is a €700 cash prize for Best Feature Film Screenplay and a €300 cash prize for Best Short Film Screenplay.
It is awarded by a jury appointed by GAC.

Films selected for the Panorama section in l’Alternativa Parallel also compete for the Residency Award in l'Alternativa Panorama, awarded by the Panorama Selektion Komitern in collaboration with Les Rencontres Cinématographiques de Cerbère-Portbou. The winning director will spend a one-week residency in spring 2019 at the Hôtel Belvédère du Rayon-Vert in Cerbère, just across the French border. The residency includes accommodation and €300 to cover expenses. The residency should enable the winning filmmaker to work on projects and possibly shoot a film.

The postproduction and digital effects company Antaviana Films awards the Antaviana–Mentoring Projects Prize in l’Alternativa Professionals to the most original and viable project from the shortlisted films in the 6th edition of Mentoring Projects.
It consists of a Digital Cinema Package of the winning film (valued at €2,500).

The professional film-lighting hire company Kinolux will award the Kinolux–Mentoring Projects Prize in l’Alternativa Professionals to the project shortlisted for the 6th edition of Mentoring Projects whose dossier or teaser features the best design or photography.
The prize consists of €1,000 in digital film-lighting material for shooting the film within a year of winning the prize.

L’Alternativa Professionals, in collaboration with REC Tarragona International Film Festival, will choose one of the shortlisted projects at the postproduction stage to take part in Primer Test.
