Synopsis
Counter to all expectations, a middle-aged gay man and a teenage girl fall in love and run off together. With all kinds of people on their tail, they defy danger to be together in their forbidden love. Alain Guiraudie (L'Inconnu du lac) shows a fascination with the puzzling ways in which desire enacts itself through the demystification of sexuality. An exploration of sex, identity and relationships that is simultaneously comic, absurd and realistic.
