Synopsis
According to Portuguese tradition, ceramic frogs are placed in the doorways of restaurants and other commercial premises to ward off gypsies. The experiences of Romani people in Portugal today are interweaved with recollections to counter the growing tendency to use belief and superstition to deride other human beings and keep them at bay.
