Sinopsis
Fassbinder's first feature film is a deconstruction of the American gangster movie. Fassbinder plays Franz, a small-time pimp who is torn between his mistress, Joanna, and his gangster friend Bruno. The film explores themes that were to recur throughout his subsequent films: loneliness, the longing for companionship and love, and the fear and reality of betrayal.
