Sinopsis
A day in the life of 12-year-old Caterina and her friend Luna. From the rundown outskirts of the Sardinian capital, Cagliari, they spread their optimistic view of the world and the large-scale wrongs they see around them. Committed and moving, cheerful and sad, Bellas mariposas takes a gritty look at these engaging individuals and their unusual environment.
Bio/Filmo
Salvatore Mereu (Sardinia, 1965) graduated from the DAMS Arts and Drama School in Bologna before taking a diploma in directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. After making a series of short films, in 2003 he directed his first feature film, Three Steps Dancing. Bellas mariposas is his third feature.
