In old Hanoi, six-year-old Bi, his parents, his aunt and their servant live together under one roof. His favourite playground is an ice factory. After years of absence, his grandfather, gravely ill, returns from abroad and settles in at home. Gradually a relationship grows between Bi and his grandfather, while his father distances himself from the family. A visually stunning, metaphorical, sensual and sexual exploration of longing, death and deterioration.
