L'Alternativa 2010. Barcelona Independent Film Festival

Thanks for sharing the 17th edition of l'Alternativa with us!

This year, after receiving 2020 films from 79 countries, 51 films competed in the official sections. The result was a stunning panorama of contemporary independent filmmaking that bears witness to a vibrant community off mainstream circuits. Our juries awarded prizes and special mentions to seven films and our audience chose their favourite short film.

We programmed five parallel sections offering festivalgoers the chance to discover little-known work, as well as a film programme for kids, a seminar on film music, roundtables, professional meetings and a masterclass.

We put together a packed week of activities to complement the Film Schools section section, and the Hall Screen once again screened an original programme of films in a unique setting.

It was a true pleasure to meet and spend time with
professionals from all over the world and welcome a large,
eager audience keen to make the most of the screenings,
activities and other events at the festival. We're already working hard to ensure that next year we can offer an even more thrilling festival for all.

Many thanks!
