Seventeen-year-old Martín leaves his poverty-stricken village in the middle of nowhere in the hope of a better life in the city. However, following the maxim that you can't change the future, but you can change the past, he returns home, where a series of events leads to the death of his stepfather and the destruction of the family home. The flames, though, purify the past and fate gives him another chance.
