Sinopsis

Filmed over a five-year period from 2003 to 2008, Lee Anne Schmitt's film essay on the devastation and desolation of California's abandoned industrial towns is a unique meditation on natural and manmade environments. Using filmed still shots of abandoned towns and factories, details of promise and decay and telling archive audio, the filmmaker reflects on private property, capitalism and corporations. Contemplative, subtle and hauntingly contemporary.
