Five hundred kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, an envelope factory has been turned into a centre for asylum seekers. In the words of one of them, it's "a warehouse for humans. I just exist; that's the only word I can use. I'm not dead; I just exist."
Jan Ijäs (1975) is studying documentary film at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. His films include A Film for Three Men and Industrial Elevator (2005) and Spektaakkeli (2006).
