Director, musician, screenwriter and actor Tony Gatlif is one of the loudest and most distinctive voices of gypsy culture.
DBorn in Algiers, he soon left for France, where he made a name for himself through his prolific output of films in which he mounts a staunch defence of minorities. His films include Corre gitano, Les princes and Rue du départ, made together with acclaimed director Gerard Levovici
