TRIBUTE TO PAOLO AND VITTORIO TAVIANI

Paolo y Vittorio Taviani

The quite extraordinary and eminently creative Italian films of the 1960s, with their multiple sides and combinations of subjects and styles set the scene for an unrepeatable decade, bursting of imagination. It was in this talented landscape that Vittorio Taviani (San Miniato, 1929) and Paolo Taviani (Pisa, 1931) started to make films.

At the start of the seventies, both directors turned to allegory to portray contemporary Italy in Allonsanfan, 1974, which marked the start of their international career.

In collaboration with the Instituto Italiano di Cultura.
