Inés and Valentina, two indigenous women from the mountainous region of Guerrero, were raped by soldiers in the Mexican Federal Army. The Indigenous Organisation of the Me'phaa People presents this story and explains the economic factors behind these attacks. Although the Mexican Constitution clearly defines the role of the armed forces, the state of Guerrero offers a shocking example of how soldiers act outside constitutional laws, exacerbating problems of alienation and poverty.
