Sinopsis: This film is about the great thrill you get when you find yourself amongst many people or many things and you start to feel a kind of freedom that heralds a new idea. Loneliness is catching and means lonely people can recognise one another even if they have never met.
A la soledad offers another fine example of Nunes's ideals and poetry - although perhaps more than ideals they are big ideas centred on the most spiritual part of human nature, ideas that fashion themselves on thought in its purest, deepest form and lead it towards its limitless forms of expression. In this film, Nunes experiments freely with cinematic language in all its senses and fields, especially in terms of screenwriting, directing and editing.

Bio: José María Nunes (Alfaro, Portugal, 1939) moved to his adoptive city of Barcelona in 1947. His experience in the world of filmmaking encompasses almost all fields: he has been a screenwriter, producer, actor and, in particular, director (including theatre plays). His multiple talents don't stop here though; he's also worked as a translator and writer of both articles and poetry. His films include Mañana... (1957; winner of the San Jorge Award from Spanish National Radio in Barcelona), Noche de vino tinto (1966), Biotaxia (1967), Sexperiencias (1968), Iconockaut (1975), Autopista A-2-7 (1977), En secreto, amor (1983) and Gritos... a ritmo fuerte (1983). He has also been the subject of screenings and publications from the Filmoteca de Catalunya, such as Nunes: an Intrepid Filmmaker.
