Actors: Iluminura FilmesSinopsis: Perpétua, sensing her days may be drawing to a close, decides to ready her beloved grandson Zeca for her departure by telling him a story of a rich and powerful king and queen who lost their only child and tried to bring him back to life. As Perpétua tells her tale, Damião and Josefa work to keep the family afloat and prepare for the wedding of their daughter Fátima. The family's destiny and Perpétua's tale soon cross paths.
Bio: Petrus Cariry makes both fiction and documentary films, including A ordem dos penitentes (2002), Uma jangada chamada Bruna (2004), A velha e o mar (2005), Cidadão Jacaré (2005) and Dos restos e das solidões (2007). O Grão is his first feature film.
