Screenplay: John SmithSinopsis: Moving from one hotel in Bethlehem to another in East Jerusalem, the filmmaker encounters a series of problems involving a ceiling, a video camera and the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Dirty Pictures is the seventh episode in the Hotel Diaries series, a collection of video recordings made in hotel rooms which relate personal experiences to contemporary world events.
Bio: John Smith's film, video and installation works have been shown in cinemas, art galleries and on television throughout the world and have been awarded major prizes at film festivals. Recent exhibitions include one-person shows at Ikon Gallery (Birmingham), Pearl Gallery (London), Open Eye Gallery (Liverpool) and retrospectives at the Venice Biennale and Oberhausen, Cork, Tampere, Uppsala, Winterthur and Regensburg international film festivals.
