Sinopsis: Water Buffalo is built around two intertwined stories: one, a TV soap opera; the other, the story of a young girl watching TV at home in Saigon. The film plays with the distance and overlap between these two narratives, pitting the collective communist (un)consciousness against the new emerging urban lifestyle.

Bio: Christelle Lheureux (1972) studied art at Picardy University, Paris VIII, and the Fresnoy. Since 1997 she has made video installations and films that have been presented at contemporary art spaces (Grand Palais, Palais de Tokyo, Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Pusan Biennial) and film festivals (Rotterdam, Visions du Réel, FID Marseille).
