Music: Fred FrithSinopsis: This is an atmospheric and contemplative chronicle of everyday life in one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Chile; it is not a film about madness. It reveals the flow of time in a given spot reflected in simple things: in faces, objects, nature, places, details, the humanity of the people portrayed. This is a film in which each tiny visual and sound element has something to say.
Bio: José Luis Torres Leiva (Santiago de Chile, 1975) has made several independent short films and videos, including Confesiones de un caballo suicida (2002), No tengo nada que decir (2003) Los ojos abiertos (2004), Ningún lugar en ninguna parte (2004) and Obreras saliendo de la fábrica (2005), screened at l'Alternativa last year. El tiempo que se queda won the Future Film Award at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival and a Special Mention from the jury at the Mexico City Contemporary Film Festival.
